The groundbreaking mobile broadband technology Fourth Generation also called 4G is the latest broadband that will change the whole world of Internet Surfing, it do not only provides all of services and flexibility that is available in 3G but also offers super fast speed that even the current fastest fixed station (in UK) can’t provide. The growth of 3G broadband has been devastated by the issues with speed whereas the 4G broadband promises to completely resolve this issue.

The word 4G is now echoing all around the world and getting famous day by day even though it is not out yet internationally. This technology will bring the advance development in wireless networks to the point of total completion. The 4G will surpass the very length of 3G; the 4G broadband will be the advancement in the current 3G broadband by ISPs for mobile networks and will surely allow super fast data transfer rate and also a wide range of coverage as compared to the 3G broadband.

If we look into the history, we’ll find that it is mandatory to replace the current technology if we need to implement next generation of technology, such as, the first generation system was replaced by its successor second generation, same as second generation was totally replaced by the current third generation, so this suggests that if we need to put 4G network in service we have to replace the whole 3G network. To overcome this problem of replacing the whole network, the standardization bodies have set the timescale of 2012-2015 to commercially implement the 4G technology.

In 2009, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. and O2 UK successfully completed the test of live trial of LTE (Long-Term Evolution)

It is the project of the 3GPP also called third generation partnership project.

It was revealed that the Internet users would enjoy the high speed surfing and downloading on their cellular devices in near future when the first ever netbook was launched with the integrated Long Term Evolution also known as LTE (wireless technology). Still, don’t let your exhilaration too high because even the makers of netbook i.e. Samsung has confessed that the LTE technology (Long Term Evolution of 3G) is too far away to be enjoyed yet, at the Mobile World Congress on February.

Samsung also displayed their domestic product a customized version of N150 netbook with built-in LTE chipset and according to what they claim; the user can access massive data through LTE’s high-speed and every-present connectivity without worrying about the time or place. This suggests that the mobile user could enjoy speed up to 100Mbps, which is double the speed of Virgin Media – the current provider. According to the spokesman, LTE is much faster comparing to HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) and the operators will easily relieved the data from 3G systems to it. Infrastructure of LTE or other wireless systems is something that UK doesn’t support yet.

The spokesman added, UK would not be able to see LTE technology until the end of 2012 due to the infrastructure issue.

Samsung is developing plans to enable LTE technology in cells and other products too but also at the same time they are developing technologies of WiMax (a competitor to LTE) to make certain that it would hold its ground contending other manufacturers.

According to a report, Telefónica – parent company of O2 – in collaboration with Nokia Siemens is running trials using the pre-commercial LTE station and displayed the ability of “LTE radio and core network equipment”. According to the chief technology officer of Telefónica, they are very proud to be the first to demonstrate LTE services.

The top contender Long-Term Evolution also called LTE is ready for the trials in UK for Fourth Generation (4G) technology as mobile broadband system. The manufacturer of mobile phones has begun the testing at its Swindon based testing facility. An archetype LTE device also with the 2.6Ghz spectrum band is being used to test live LTE calls to see how much data it would stream, the spectrum band used is expected to be auctioned.

Long-Term Evolution (LTE) is supposed to have more than enough potential to surpass the Third Generation Technology (3G) that is why it is proposed for the trial of 4G mobile broadband and also LTE is the main competitor in line with the WiMax. These two competitors are very reliable and much faster than the available 3G networks. In United Kingdom, LTE is very highly expected to be the successor comparing to WiMAX technology that has attained fame in different parts of the globe where 3G services haven’t established yet.

In UK, Motorola’s Swindon facility is now unlocked to every operator who would want set up trials for LTE field. Many GSM based equipments have been tested in this Swindon facility.

The famous 4G technologies like the WiMAX or LTE are not the only step in the advancement of cellular broadband but also there is well-reputed Vodafone that is at present testing the technology HSPA+ which is made upon the available HSPA generation of 3G. The standard HSPA+ is totally different than the LTE and WiMAX because it doesn’t need to removed the whole network or offload the data. But LTE is still superior because it guarantees to provide speed up to 100Mbps whereas Vodafone has claimed to offer only 16Mpbs according to its trial of HSPA+.

According to a report, Motorola is said to demonstrate LTE call but it is not confirmed yet.
